International Travel to Phoenix Up

The Air Canada DIRECT flight from Montreal to Phoenix begins November 6. The Canada Arizona Business Council predicts strong growth in connecting business in Arizona to businesses in Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and the Maritime Provinces. (Regions of Canada with dismal connectivity to Arizona now.) This new market and the growth in the existing air connectivity to Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Toronto is why we are so bullish.

Tourism is the next big item on the list for potential growth. The Arizona Office of Tourism needs to educate Eastern Canada on two items: superior winter golf and many more days of sunshine than Florida. Canada tourism needs to recognize that Arizona is a natural summer market with pent-up demand. "Swelterbirds" from the desert need to be advertized to... and they will travel north to Canada for the perfect summer weather.
